A Koala Go Playground review

I was really excited to get a look inside this Playground, it is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for for my two 5th grade level students. We aren’t doing classic lessons it’s more like learning through play, discussion and problem solving.
I wanted something that we could explore, leave graffiti in, practice giving directions and descriptions of where we are. I have been using Ultimate Hide-and-Seek for this, which works great, and it was time to add some variety.
This looked like a really good match so I snatched it up.
There is no content built into this so it was a perfect for me, because I would have had to change the content or remove it. This is just a pure maze with some great features added.
I love the style and the color choices. The addition of water holes to return to the start and the elevated vantage points to see more of the maze are all great features. As you go through the maze there are enough objects and avatars so that you can keep track of where you have been, if your memory is good…Also there are sports equipment games to discover along the way.

One of my favorite things about this build is how efficient it is with images. Images are one of the main culprits for poorly performing Playgrounds so there is a balance to be made between unique images and performance. The documentation says 3 seconds to load, I didn’t get that sort of speed, but is definitely way less than 30 seconds, reloading it is probably 3 seconds though…impressive.

My first goal was working my way to this fabulous tree
In summary, Mystery Maze is a well thought out, well designed, efficiently engineered maze that fit my needs to a T.
Maybe it will work for you.
