This was a big announcement for the future of Koala Go. Maybe it doesn’t do anything for you and your classes now, but it opens a doorway to Koala Go being more mainstream. Which does affect you, in a positive way. One day soon we might not have to explain what Koala Go is to students or parents and why we should use it.

Anyway, they had a launch webinar that I attended, and here is a summary:

  •   The webinar began with an introduction to the format and encouraged participants to engage in the chat.

  •   The speakers discussed participants' expectations and reasons for attending the webinar, providing an opportunity for audience engagement.

  •   The Koala Business Plan was introduced, highlighting its features and how it addresses the needs of organizations with multiple teachers.

  •   Demonstrations were given on the branded teacher and student portals, the dashboard, cloud recording feature, hourly system, and how to redeem a private training for the team.

  •   The webinar concluded with an invitation for participants to ask any questions they may have, fostering an open dialogue.

If you have a team of teachers and are interested in Koala Business, I suggest you watch the replay.

For those with only a casual interest, here is the 10000 foot view:

  • Koala Business is for Groups of teachers, they recommend 25 teachers or 300 hours of teaching during a month.

  • You can white-label Koala Go, and replace logos with your own logos, including the 24/7 help chat.

  • You can host it on your own domain.

  • The rate mentioned was $1-2/hr of teaching time (not prep time). Charged by the minute.

  • The cloud recording can be set to start automatically for all classes.

  • The API allows developers to access most of the dashboard functions and build their own front-end.

  • The Koala team does private training to get your teachers up to speed on the platform.

What does it all mean? It means that schools have a new option for online teaching platforms. We already know (by using it) that Koala is way better than the others, and the support is unbeatable. I see it starting to snowball, and this will benefit all of us.
