Ok, so it’s not a Playground but somebody loves trains, I try and rebuild this differently everyday, yes, it does take up most of the living room, but nobody seems to mind.

✍️🃏Editorial: The Holidays for me

I enjoy living outside the US, especially during the holidays. I lost interest just about the time I had my first real job (washing dishes), X-mas and New years were opportunities to get overtime, bonuses, and favors to call in at a later date. It never seemed strange to me.

Fast forward to today, living in Vietnam you can almost  pretend that the holidays aren’t happening, they have a much lower profile here and that is fine by me, in the US I feel that they are a bit overdone, starting the ads and decorations after Halloween is just over the top in my opinion.

I’m not saying I don’t participate at all, I just try and have some perspective. X-mas for me is December 24 and 25, that’s it, no 60 day run-up is needed or wanted.

January 1 for me, is the day that people start to return to the real world and continue on with their normal lives, hopefully they don’t take too long paying off the holiday debts. Because it’s only 340 some-odd days until X-mas is back!!

I have my normal time slots open all week so students can and are scheduling classes. 

This is probably the first X-mas my 3 year old will remember and his mother bought him a train, a big train, a train that will provide play time and memories for years. It was opened before X-mas and Daddy has been spending some quality time building train layouts that get taken apart daily, and that is why there aren’t really any articles this week. So enjoy your holiday, whatever way you see fit, that’s what I’m doing.
