Editorial
✍️🃏 Editorial: What is real? Do we even care?
Perhaps this is will be THE valuable skill to learn for our now toddlers. Determining the differences between AI generated content and Human creations.

"As AI blurs the lines of reality, the question remains: what will we truly value?" - Image and caption created by Gemini
Right now we seem to be at a crossroads where AI generated content (text, audio, still images and video) is starting to flood onto the web and be monetized by interest and clicks. More and more content is created or modified or influenced in some way by AI (this newsletter for example).
I am not sure if this is good or bad, it’s not really my call, but it is happening, there is a lot of money at stake and it’s the “Wild Wild West” as far as rules and regulation go.
Will AI be everyone’s benign personal assistant and Socratic style tutor, ushering in an age of enlightenment and creativity. Or will it be used to enslave weaker minds into becoming click machine zombies that only exist to consume content and click on screens?
Personally I suspect the latter, as I watch on a daily basis, parents at the park “spending time with their children”, when in reality they are actually staring at their phones while sitting outside. The children having mostly given up trying to get their attention. This is not all parents, but the number seems to be growing. These are the click machine zombies of the near future.
How will we teach our children what is real and what isn’t?
Will anybody even care if experiences are real or AI generated?

Submissions
🙋🏽♂️🤷🏻♀️How do I submit my Playground to be featured in Koala Bites?
If you have a Playground you would like to have in this newsletter, or for that matter, anything the readers might find useful. Just click that button that says “Submissions”. That will open an email for you to describe what you would like to submit.
I like to schedule a time where I can come to your classroom and tour the Playground. Then I will do a short write-up. There is no cost for this.
