✍️🃏Editorial: Getting up to speed

I’m not sure how or why it happened but I am getting very busy on Preply. This was supposed to be a slower time of the year according to other tutors. Anyway, although I am happy about the numbers increasing I really need to get all my ducks in a row. 

I talked about my student profile system in this newsletter, this has kept me from pulling out my hair trying to keep track of everyone. 

The Preply calendar system is great, I can easily block off hours so I don’t end up teaching a bunch of classes in a row. Students can reschedule themselves to other open slots or cancel lessons as long as they do it 12 hours in advance, otherwise they get charged. This calendar also links with my Apple,  Google, and Calendy calendars. Not sure how all that works, but somehow it does.

My Apple Watch died after 8 years of tough, faithful service, RIP. I really need to get a replacement, without the watch I am paranoid I’m going to miss something from the calendar or be late for a class.

On the personal side I need to get more sleep, like everyone I guess. I have been sneaking out in the morning for a quick spin on my bicycle, just for a little sun, air, stretching and super mild cardio. My second meal of the day, lunch/dinner, moves anywhere from 1pm-7pm based on the days classes, not sure if this will work out long-term or not.

I’m still trying to get this newsletter out on Tuesdays, but it is getting harder to make the time. So expect fewer articles in the near future. At least until I get used to the new workload.
