✍️🃏Do I look like a shady character?
This week on Preply I received a message from a potential student in India. It was a strange message that wasn’t very clear so I asked for more details. Long story short, This student (and 17 others) had each been given 100 hours of lessons by their company to improve their English skills.
This student was not very interested in lessons but saw this as an opportunity to scam their employer, their plan was to schedule the lessons with me, not attend the lessons and split the money…
Now this could have been a trap or a test or exactly what it looked like, I may never know as I declined their generous offer, but I am sure they won’t have much trouble finding a willing co-conspirator. Just sad…
But now I wonder why they chose me, did they spam that meassge to hundreds of tutors or did they look at my picture and say ” Yeah, that guy looks like a money launderer”
