😑📘Koala Teachers Family recap

Koala Go

🐨Using Koala Go on Preply?

Like a lot of you, I prefer to use Koala Go over anything else, the problem is most teaching platforms have their own classroom software that they want you to use. I hate having to learn the ins and outs of each of these new systems.

I just got started on Preply and they have their own classroom software that I find kinda meh…  Luckily, once a demo lesson becomes a student you can use whatever classroom software you want.

But that still leaves the demo lessons to deal with. My first couple of demo lessons were not my best work as the tools were new to me and I hadn’t figured out how to organize my materials so things flowed nicely.

I don’t know why it took me so long to figure this out, but I can just set up my normal Koala whiteboard/co-browser/playground lessons and simply screen-share that Chrome tab in whatever classroom software I am using.

Sharing the screen in Preply

Sure we miss out on all the interactivity, but I explain that to the student before we start.

It has worked great so far, my lessons are set up the way I like, I know the tools, and I don’t have to learn yet another system I never wanted to use.

So remember, anytime you have the ability to screen-share you can use Koala Go, not all of the interactivity but you can at least use the tools you are familiar with and the materials you already created.

🤖🎶Suno - AI music generator

The AI music creation sector is starting to heat up with new entries every week (at least it seems like it).

I tried a few and this seems like the best free one to experiment with, I know I’m having fun with it.

Currently, you can sign up for free and get 50 credits everyday. 50 credits is enough to produce 5 songs. Which is good since it forces me to move along to something else instead of trying to create the next chart topper.

There are lots of great samples to listen to on the landing page, people are super creative with their prompts and share what comes out.

Suno has an easy to use interface so you can just jump in and create your own songs in seconds.

Just describe the song you want, it seems to add lyrics on its own, but if you toggle on custom mode you can put in your own (or have an AI do it), or you can just have an instrumental.

For the songs that you create you can download them as mp3 or mp4 (videos).

It’s free, go have fun!!

💧👩🏻‍🏫Seeking content for Dunk The Teacher!!

Do you like the concept behind Dunk The Teacher but it doesn’t have the right content for you? Send me an email about it.

My original plan was to offer many different versions with the content that teachers like yourself wanted (each version at $3), but since I cannot read minds I need you tell me what you need.😆

🙋🏽‍♂️🤷🏻‍♀️How do I submit my Playground to be featured in Koala Bites?

If you have a Playground you would like to have in this newsletter, or for that matter, anything the readers might find useful. Just click that button that says “Submissions”. That will open an email for you to describe what you would like to submit.

I like to schedule a time where I can come to your classroom and tour the Playground. Then I will do a short write-up. There is no cost for this.
