💧👩🏻🏫How to change the words in the Dunk The Teacher Playground
Seriously, it is not as tricky as you might think. Watch this single take, dubious quality tutorial.

🕸️🏛️Creating GIFS with Canva Webinar
I just stumbled across this post right before publishing Issue 10.
It looks like an interesting webinar, it’s free and it’s by Brenda Brooks, so I’m going.
Playground Launch
🕷️Spiderman Themed Playground

Alitalia invited me over to tour a playground she just listed on the marketplace. After seeing her initial video I was kind of excited to check it out. It definitely has a Spiderman feel to it.

This Playground is a great place to put your own content. There are several buildings with multiple floors, an underground maze, some hidden rooms, an obstacle course, generic game boards and a lot more.

It’s clear that Alitalia spent a lot of time on the details, from the fantastic use of colored blocks to make the giant spiders and Spiderman buildings to the choices of images and gem items for the building interiors.

The obstacle course is challenging enough that we both managed to fall off during the tour, so students should love it.
If you have students that are Spiderman fans (I think most of us do) you might like to check this one out.

This week we will be starting with the very useful “act as” prompt.

🎨👨🏾🎨Retro ASCII art in Sticky Notes
I warned you readers several issues ago that I love Sticky Notes, here is more proof.
This obscure art form is from the time before Emojis. Emojis are actually the replacement for ASCII art that people used in emails.
They start with the very simple to the more complex:
:) @->—>— ><((((‘> (===||:::::::::::::::>
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
Back when these were “popular” all characters (letters) were the same size. Today our fonts have different character widths, proportional spacing, etc. This leads to better looking text overall, but ASCII art is more of a challenge now.

Emoticons
Koala Go Sticky Notes use one of these modern fonts, and also have line centering so the challenge level goes up again, 🤣
But it is possible to convert old ASCII art (which can still be found online) to look good on Sticky Notes. Usually I just paste the original into a Sticky Note, then start adding and subtracting spaces to get everything to line up. After it looks right I copy it and save it elsewhere (as a mac user I use Notes and have a folder of them) to use again later in another Sticky Note.

I know what you are thinking “I could just use an image”, that’s true, these are just for fun, and times when an image is not the way to go.
Submissions
🙋🏽♂️🤷🏻♀️How do I submit my Playground to be featured in Koala Bites?
If you have a Playground you would like to have in this newsletter, or for that matter, anything the readers might find useful. Just click that button that says “Submissions”. That will open an email for you to describe what you would like to submit.
I like to schedule a time where I can come to your classroom and tour the Playground. Then I will do a short write-up. There is no cost for this.
