🤖Game type progression in Wordwall

Since you can use the same data to make many games with just a couple clicks, it is very easy to arrange different games in an order that builds up the difficulty.

One progression I use is:

Matching Pairs- Here the student only has to recognize the word and match it to a picture. Plus they get to flex their short-term memory skills. If I’m not paying attention they sometimes beat me, which is quite funny.

Anagram - Here the student has all the letters of the word, they just have to put them in the right order.

Hangman - Here the student has to actually spell the word with only the number of letters as a clue.

This is just one of the possible ways to order game types so as to build up slowly to the desired result.

The students think they are getting away with something because we played games for 10 or 15 minutes after finishing a lesson. Little do they know that it’s all just an entertaining way to help them remember vocabulary words. I have had good results with this method, you might also.
