👩🏻‍🏫🛠️Combining AI tools for an engaging class

I decided to go “all in” with AI for a class I had this past weekend.  We combined two of the tools I have written about before. Popcorn the Storyteller and Suno the AI song creator.

This is how it went. First, after some smalltalk and a song (student’s choice) we had Popcorn start a story for us, making some choices to guide the story, the student decided on a happy puppy and best friend Hupik a cat. It was to be a scary story, the characters were playing football in the forest. Popcorn gave us some choices on how the story should proceed and we took turns reading the story so the student could work on pronunciation, word stress, etc. At one point I asked Popcorn to rap up the story and they did a nice job of it.

The story branched into a game of hide-and-seek with a small cute monster who was separated from its mother. Nice story actually, and it could have gone on for awhile longer, but we were running low on time and the student was starting to fidget.

At this point we had a Salamander Yoga break and moved over to Suno to create a song based on the story we just made.

By just typing in the main points of the story and picking a song style we got back 2 versions of a custom song.

I believe this might be a glimpse of how the future of tutoring could look, only I won’t be the one switching between tools and coming up with ideas, it will all be done by an AI. Think about it, scalable, inexpensive, engaging, customized lessons…What a time to be alive!
